The video focuses on erasure as an act of creation through performance drawing. It reflects on the ephemeral nature of movement in response to the instinctual and ambiguous sense of action in the body.
The work alludes the idea of trace as a memory in connection to temporality. My intention was to follow the movement of the drawn line back to its origin to map its journey. I perceive drawing as a mediator between the hand and the eye; it slows down the act of seeing.
Waiting.
Staring.
Drawing in a state of unknowing.
This spontaneous action, intense and fragmented had created a contradictory space where movement and lines collide as they create a new paradigm.
The video works was exhibited as part of the Skypetrait-SkypeLab Transcontinental Faces and Spaces. Curated by Maggie McCormick and Henning Eichinger
