The Arrival, 2013
Two channel digital video installation and sound
5 minutes, dimensions variable
The Arrival is a dialogue between body and space that represents the subject-on-hold, frozen, in transition between lives and places. The dark long periods of stasis in the work suggest the condition of unresolved trauma that when triggered would create and manifest dissociation, confusion and anxiety. The space inside the car was used as a stimulus to shape the performance piece.
The two videos are symbolic pairs, working together to create different abstract moments and open-ended narratives.
